Harvest-Sabbath

2019 Harvest Sabbath

Your participation is needed for a successful Harvest. On this very special Sabbath young and old bring nonperishable food items to the worship service.

After the gathering of food, several food baskets are made and delivered to families in the community of Auburn. The remaining harvest is taken to the Auburn Elementary School’s food pantry. The school pantry is used to give children food for the weekend until they return to school on Monday for breakfast and lunch programs.

Tools for a successful harvest – prayer, coupon and shopping those grocery store sale items!

Let us not become weary in doing Good, for at the proper time will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

Between now and harvest please prayerfully consider what you can give and pray for the recipients of these foods.
Here are some suggested nonperishable foods:

Cereal
Hot cereal
Pancake Baking Mix
Soup
Canned meats, tuna etc.

Pasta
Pasta Sauce
Peanut Butter / Jelly
Canned fruit and vegetables

Reminder: Please check the expiration dates. We are not able to donate if it is expired.

FYI: For those who are making hats and scarves for the children at Auburn Elementary, please have them at the church on November 16th. They will be delivered the following week with the harvest food.

Also, if you have any coats or jackets that you don’t need and are in good condition, the school could use those too.

Thank you for helping to make a difference in the life of a child.
